When the friendly folks at Wisconsin Cheese Masters offered to sponsor a reader giveaway, they didn’t have to twist our arms. They offer artisan cheeses online and deliver them to straight to your door so that even if you don’t live in Wisconsin you can enjoy its bounty.
So this week we’re excited to be giving away a gift box of Wisconsin artisan cheeses! And what a better time to send some Wisconsin cheese your way than for the Super Bowl starring our beloved Green Bay Packers (sorry, Stef)! You don’t have to be a cheesehead to win. We just think that any Super Bowl party is better with a little Wisconsin cheese.
Wisconsin Cheese Masters also sent along this tasty recipe for Parmesan Cheese Clouds (like little parmesan cookies!) plus we’ve included links to our favorite cheese recipes below so that even if you don’t win you can still get in on the cheesehead action.
Cheese Clouds
1 C butter
2 C water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2-2 1/2 C flour
10 oz shredded SarVecchio or aged parmesan
6 eggs
paprika
Combine butter, water, sugar and salt in a sauce pan. Cook until butter melts and whisk in 2 C flour. Reduce heat, stirring constantly for one minute. Pour into a mixing bowl and beat on low for one minute to cool. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add remaining flour until batter is thick and firm. Fold in cheese. Drop by tablespoons onto parchment lined baking sheet and dust with paprika and kosher salt. Bake for 18-20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Congrats on the Pack win. Since the Jets lost {sad face} I will be cheering on the cheeseheads! Anyone but the Steelers basically. I will definitely be making my famous cheesy pizza dip for the Superbowl at my parents house! Always a crowd pleaser!

Da Packers all the way! I won’t be making anything on Super Bowl because we are going out this year. Last year was our 15th and final Super Bowl Party. We got 3 calls after the game yesterday to see if our party would “come out of retirement” for the Big Game.

We’ll be rooting for the Packers and in honor of our family traditions, what better cheesy recipe than a Cheese Platter featuring one aged cheddar, one Brie, one Goat, and one or two other selections.

The Packers all the way! Cheese Quesadillas were big hit at the Conference Championship game this weekend .Don’t want to change the mo jo, so the grilled pineapple with ham and chipolte sauce and monterey jack cheese will back for the game day.

Hmmm…let’s see. I will be rooting for the commercials! I am not a big football fan. Isn’t Glee on afterwards? I will be rooting for that to start! And I love my mom’s Cheesy Taco Dip. Cream Cheese spread on bottom of a pie plate with salsa, black beans and of course cheese melted on top. THE BEST!

I will be at a friend’s house for the Super Bowl party and have been told that there is no need to bring a dish, they are having it catered, nice 🙂 But I will wear (at least for a moment or two) the Cheese Head that I received because I lost a bet. Macaroni and cheese and cheesy potato soup are big hits in our house since we have a couple kidlets in the 4 and under age group (yes, I feed my toddler soup–it’s messy but worth it). I would LOVE this cheese basket since I can’t be in WI to be part of the Packer fever–I’ll be rooting from our current location of Buffalo, NY.
As a Bears fan, I’m really conflicted on who to root for! I can’t root for the Packers (I spent 4 years of college in Madison defending my Chicago sports teams!), but I HATE Ben Roethlisberger… ugh, decisions, decisions. I do know, however, that I will be rooting for cheese. I think I’ll make a taco dip and a bacon cheese ball!

We are Dallas Cowboys fans seeing as how we’re from the Austin area and all. But since they don’t seem to be very good at the moment, we’ll be cheering on the Packers. We can’t have snacks without queso, and quesadillas are a great snack for small kids (we have 4). And we LOVE spinach dip so that will be made too. Now if we can get some of that great Wisconsin cheese it would be even better!

I’ll be rooting for the Packers who just beat our Bears. For our pot luck Super Bowl party we’ll be making pigs and blankets and home made Boursin cheese. Other folks will bring mussels in wine sauce, stuffed mushrooms, Caesar salad served in bar glasses with home made croutons and Parmesan shavings. Yum – go Packers!
